General Course Description:
The Nursing Assistant Preparation Program is delivered through a blended learning format that includes online instruction, instructor-led classroom sessions, and practical hands-on skills training. Students are required to complete weekly assessments and a comprehensive final examination to demonstrate mastery of core competencies.
Upon successful completion of the program, students must pass the state-approved Nursing Assistant licensing examination administered through the appropriate Board of Nursing or authorized testing provider to earn Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) credentials.
Certified Nursing Assistants play a vital role in patient care by assisting with both the physical and psychosocial needs of clients in hospitals, long-term care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home-care settings. Working as part of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, CNAs support the implementation of the care plan and assist with tasks delegated by licensed nurses in accordance with provider and facility policies.
Employment opportunities for graduates include positions in acute care hospitals, rehabilitation centers, extended care facilities, skilled nursing facilities, and home health agencies.
